Jen Heyer started attending Bethany Church with her family when she was a junior high student. Through her high school and college years she was very involved in youth group and college group. In her early twenties she moved up to Hume Lake Christian Camps where she was a part of their discipleship program. There she discovered God in a new way and wanted this relationship to grow, so she stayed on staff at Hume for two more years. After seeing ministry first-hand in the camp world, she felt the Lord guiding her to go back to school to become better equipped to work in ministry. This urging from the Lord lead her to attend BIOLA where she received her Masters in Philosophy. While working on her MA, Jen had the honor to work on Talbot’s Student Body as the Community Chair. This position is how she met Clay, her husband, who also was studying Philosophy. Before they married, both felt a pull on their lives to be in full-time ministry and the Lord led them to a church where Jen became the Student Ministries Coordinator and Clay became the intern. After almost two years, Jen and her husband left the church in search of full-time employment, which led Jen back to Bethany School. She began working at the Summer Camp in 2016 and then transitioned to working at the school that fall and has been loving being home ever since! Her passions include equipping young people with the ability to know who they are by knowing who God is; studying the names of God; and loving people where they are.
