What can God do with persecution? Can He redeem it? What purpose does it serve in the life of the Church? The Church under persecution is the Church on the move. So it was in Acts (Acts 8:1-25), and so it can be for us today.
What Satan meant for evil, God used to advance His Kingdom. However, if you think of it, Jesus warned that persecution would come, but He said, “Do not be discouraged. I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Did you hear that? Jesus has overcome. For the Church and for your life individually, Jesus has overcome. So what does that mean? It means that we have a triumphant, powerful, and personal Deliverer, which means that our hope does not depend on our circumstances.
This week, we are going to see that, with Jesus as our Deliverer, whatever comes our way–whether it be trial or persecution or need–God is about to redeem it for the larger purpose of His Kingdom’s glory and our good.
Praying for God’s redemption with you,
